This is what happens with a NCRS members owns an 87 pickup  Turned out great just cost me a spot welder to get the correct heat shield welded correctly as original. That was a bummer but I didn't trust any shop around to spot weld it without burning right through that pot metal shields.

Look beautiful, will the finish last longer than the original bare cast iron and rust instantly?

I used por-15 I have used this product before on a vehicle back in 2005 or so and the manifolds still look the same as I put them on.

There are even better ways but this should be fine for my needs.

So the POR15 doesn't burn off?

Re: My fully restored manifolds :)

No, the POR-15 from my experience will last a very long time under weekend driver conditions. I say that because I have a weekend car I restored in 2005 and they still look new!

I always do 3 coats letting it fully dry in between for 24hrs. Be aware if you do this right and take the shields off to get to the entire manifold to coat it those rivets are a PITA to remove! Mine both broke up they were seized.

just wanted to add it's usually a good idea to have the surfaced machined due to warpage since you don't put gaskets on these or at least that's the way they came. :metal:

Those manifolds looks perfect! Can I ask why you put this amount of effort and money into stock manifolds? I get everyone has their reasons, just curious.
