Hello 67-72 Guyz & Galz

Hello… I'm in the process of building a 65 short stepper and just traded a rat rod project for a 72 LWB...:metal:

The first new vehicle I remember my dad buying was a 72 LWB that was red with a straight 6, 3 on the tree and no power anything… Being 11 at the time, I thought that was the coolest truck I'd ever seen...:mm: He traded that one for a 76 just as I was learning to drive...:waah: And like the 72, the 76 was I6, 3 on the tree and no power, learn to drive on that set-up and you can drive anything...

Not sure of my plans yet, the deal has just been done and I'll post more pics once I get it home…;)

Here are a few from this past Saturday when a friend of mine made me the offer…

I will start a build thread once I put some plans together...:chevy:

I can't remember the last time I drove something without power steering...

The outer grille looks to be in great shape...I could use one of those. Good starting point, to say the least. I learned to drive my dad's '67 with a 283, 4-speed granny floor shift, manual brakes, manual steering, and no a/c in the desert. Driveshaft fell off on my first driving lesson with my pop...scared the crap out of me  Try driving without all the amenities...and no driveshaft

Welcome to our side Don. Starting with a running, driving truck is a good deal. I think i've seen that truck around town.

I like the "ratty" look of it. Doesn't necessarily look like patina since it's not "natural". Great truck nonetheless.
