coilovers for C10

i am buying the ridetech coilover strong arms and wondering what best shock and coil spring to use in the front of my 69 sbc,2.5" drop spindles
i am not after autocross handling, just comfortable and good for the drags.

Coilovers in the front would be better,You could adjust them to drag race then back how you want them on the street.

Re: coilovers for C10

spring wise you want something in the vicinity of 225lb spring rate, and shocks, depends on what the primary use of the truck is.. drag you want something that stores energy for your lauch, as per se a street shock is more 60/40 to 70/30 split on the compression and rebound.. so finding a balance is gonna be a personal taste and what feels good to you.

Re: coilovers for C10

There are a few factors that go into the selection. First is the "real" spring rate or the rate at the wheel. That will change significantly. The angle of the shock will play a role as well. There are different length springs, the longer the spring the required rate also goes down.
I have built my own mounts and have the lower shock mount as close to the ball joint as I could get it and am using a 12 inch spring. I am running 500 lb/inch springs. I had tried some 650 and these seem much better. There are several calculators out there to help.

Plus, Why not call ridetech they should know what they would start with if it is their system? They are all slightly different.

edit: Sorry I just looked and saw you have been trying to catch them.

Your right custom 68.. the 225 was for the rear.. my bad.. 500-650 sounds about right..

call ridetech and ask them. 225# is way to light for the front, i'm running 225# springs on the back of a 67 long bed and they are even to light for it if I put my tools in the bed.
