95 Suburban - Headlight improvements?

I have a 95 Suburban, and the headlights are in bad shape, the plastic has yellowed and chalked up. I was going to polish them back up, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has put in replacement headlights that are brighter/better than the stock ones.

I might just replace them if there's a good product that will improve the overall brightness. My wife complains how dim the lights are when she drives the burb, after driving her newer truck.

Thanks!

Polishing them will make a huge difference. But if it is the same as my 93 they don't have a great pattern. If you set the highs proper the lows were awful. If you raised the low beams then the highs were shinning in the trees!

If you can find them, TC Eleganta are great! They don't make them for my 93 but I found a set on EBay and it is one of the best changes I have made.

Ebay.. Get the glass ones. The plastic ones suck so bad even if you try to clean them.

Thanks for the pointers. I will do some checking on the TYC Elegante's and also browse ebay and see whats out there

A nice set of clear composites with some quality bulbs, and upgraded harness/relays will be brighter than the glass sealed beams, and they will look better, too.

I have a set from late model restorations back before they quit selling gm truck parts. I have silverstar ultra bulbs, and a relay kit. I can honestly see for a half mile with my brights on. And it's all DOT legal.

I hadn't thought about putting in relays to improve the current flow to the bulbs! I'll check into that as well. It appears the TYC Elegante's are no longer available most places I've looked, but there's a 1000 different "Clear" or "Crystal Clear" ones on Ebay. This has definitely helped point me in the right direction.

Funny but I think my old school seal beams my W/T model has work fine.

Do these connect using the factory plugs, or require soldering? Do they allow the High and Low beams to be on at the same time also?

PM me a price shipped to 78163, please. Thanks!

Yes-these use your OEM headlight connectors as triggers and yes, the 4-HI feature is built into it. Its a 2-gang relay bank with a sealed 30A fuse holder-no splicing at all.

I like to share this file image to illustrate the difference between the stock 18ga wire and my 14ga wire to the headlights. On average you can expect to pick up about 1.5V which translates to approximately 20% more light output. It makes even stock bulbs appear very bright....swap to some higher wattage bulbs and look out!

No, I don't think they make them. But, if you search on EBay and save it, it will notify you when one comes up. You don't see many but they came HIGHLY recommended to am tickled to death with mine. With just the recommended bulbs they are excellent. I was planning on some upgrades but after getting these installed I haven't seen the need.
