I screwed up
I took the throttle body off today and cleaned it up real nice. Started putting it back together....injectors go in and I start screwing the piece that goes on it a little at a time. I would stop and look things over to make sure it was all going back together correctly...thought I was in the clear...then POP! Yup, apparently I wasn't nearly as careful as I thought and one of the injectors were a little off and it popped the bowl. So now I have to try to find a replacement. So far I have not found anything at the local junk yards and e-bay prices seem to be all over the place and all I can find is complete throttle bodies, not just the bowl portion. How much am I looking at here? If the price wasn't too high I wouldn't mind picking up a back up unit, but if I can find just the part I need I can live with that. Any ideas?

Re: I screwed up
Unfortunately you'll probably end up buying another complete unit. I've not had much luck finding individual components for throttle bodies other than the injectors and usual overhaul kit.

Re: I screwed up
Ok quick fact check.....GM used the same throttle body from 1987 to 1995 right? I found a throttle body locally but the guy says its for a 88 and up. Just want to make sure he is not correct before I go laying any cash down.

Re: I screwed up
8 cylinder? I don't know about GM but Holley lists the same 87-89 and then 90-95.

Re: I screwed up
I ended up finding a guy that had an 88 350 that was locked up and he let me take the throttle body off of it. After a few missteps in putting it back on everything is locked down and running good now. The hesitation I was having earlier seems to be gone, but I am still going to put a new knock sensor on it.
