Re: Broke steering lock pin/problem?
Potentially yes, but only if you don't fish out the broken peice as it may jam up the works.

Re: Broke steering lock pin/problem?
Do you need to pull the wheel or switch.

Re: Broke steering lock pin/problem?
You will have to pull the steering wheel and the lock plate under it to inspect. you might have a bigger problem than just a sheared lock shaft the shaft is a better quality metal that the cast ignition lock bowl. So you might have ripped the the shaft through the casting and ruined the casting or both. hopefully you just sheared the shaft.

And the PSA for everybody: light, or heavy, the steering wheel is not a handle to get in or out of the truck.

Re: Broke steering lock pin/problem?
My truck came with some fugly steps on the rockers (dang, forget what you call them) and I don't think I could live without them now. It is so much easier getting in and out and I can stand on it and look at the engine while starting the truck when it's being stubborn. I think I will always have them now.

Re: Broke steering lock pin/problem?
Mine was busted when i bought it 5 years ago. I didn't know it was supposed to lock. I'm sure the busted piece is still in there, no problems.
