Gauge restoration
I am at the point in my project where i am working on all the little details. I was starting to restore my gauge faces and noticed that white silk screening is untouchable without it smearing. Is there anyone out there making decals?
My wife owns a small printing business and we have a vinyl decal cutter, I was thinking of getting her to reproduce the gauge faces in vinyl so they can be painted by anyone with a little patience and some black, white and fluorescent orange for the needles. If she can cut the vinyl with enough detail would anyone else be interested? |

www.whitegauges.com. you can find them on Ebay as well. They also offer them in many colors.

Re: Gauge restoration
I am talking about painting them like original not a sticker, you'd use the vinyl for template then peel off when done, a proper restoration.

I see now, sorry I misunderstood

Re: Gauge restoration
No, there aren't any templates to repaint your gauges. You could ship them out to a place like classic instruments but that'd cost more than a brand new tach cluster. The cheapest solution is stock design vinyl replacements.

Ya, I don't know how well it is going to turn out yet, the lines are very fine

Re: Gauge restoration
I was thinking you could use the stickers as a template

Re: Gauge restoration
That's a good idea

Re: Gauge restoration
whitepages.net will take you directly to a site i just placed an order with. Seems to be a good value, first experience though.
