What an amazing difference!!! I cut exactly two coils off the top of the spring and it dropped the truck exactly 4 inches. I also removed the bump stops. When I drove the truck it was super smooth, better than stock. I positioned the cut section of coil under the frame. It looks and feels safe while driving. The front of the truck has 1.5 coils cut also. Got tons of looks and thumbs up!! Tires sizes are 225/60/15 and 31x10.5x15:metal:

What you will find over time is the rear coil will wear into the frame from being able to move around with out the locator on it any more. If you like the look try and find a set of springs.

PG Signs is right...though for now its a awesome idea and GOOD work doing it! In the long run it will be better to find a set of lowering coils. Early Classic has Lot's of stuff for your convenience. :chevy:

Yea I planned on buying a set. Since these were coming out anyway I figured let's try the cut and see how it goes as the truck only gets driven less than 5 miles per week

Find a peice of metal pipe that fits the outer diameter of the coil.Cap it and make a spring retainer cup that bolts in.Simple fab skills minimal money. Also will work going inside same principle as the stock retainer cups.
