A/C quit... Can still hear compressor activating

My 76 K10 A/C quit working.

I can hear the compressor... But no fan comes on. I can also feel just a touch of cold air... But no fan blowing it out of the vents.

Is there a common issue I should be aware of?

Also... The fan speed switch is really stiff. It will hurt your fingers trying to adjust the speed... Maybe just a dirty cable?
