72 brake line clamp colors
I have search and search...
What is the factory correct colors for the brake line clamps? Installing SS lines and de-greased and stripped most of the paint. Wanted to get the clamps back to the factory colors or close to. I have 3 redish ones that run along the RH rails next to fuel lines 2 that look green, can hold two lines 1 white one, can hold two lines 2 bare metal, can maybe hold two small lines 2 bare metal, 1 line 1 bare metal, 1 3/8 line thanks |
Re: 72 brake line clamp colors
Suspect they're either phosphate coated (Parkerized) or maybe galvanized but not painted. I'd favor phosphate coated. Zinc coating would replicate galvanized more-or-less. Would be easy to send these with other parts for coating in either finish. Here's an example pic of both finishes: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...7&postcount=77

Definitely green and red. I did not make any notation on what clamp held what.

On my 72, I had 2 green ones, 3 red ones, and a white one which went down the rails on the passenger side. These held the gas line and vapor lines.
The bare metal ones were used to hold the gas return line, and the brake lines, both down the rail, on the cross-member, or where the brake line attaches to the underside of the frame as it goes down to the cross-member. |
