Where to find steam line hose?

I've been searching everywhere for a steam line hose to use on my LQ4 swap (it did not ship with one) and I can not find one. Is it a special hose? my local auto shops don't have ¼" heater hose am I over thinking it could I just use any rubber ¼" hose? What is everyone using and where could I pick one up at?

The steam lines themselves are hard tubing with banjo-ends that fit onto the block fittings. If your referring to the vent line that you run from the steam crossovers into the water pump/high point, then any heater hose will work fine. The steam isn't really hotter than anything else contained within the lines (by enough to matter). I wouldn't use it for the steam crossover itself tho.

Sorry, ya I was looking for a hose to go from the TB to the griffin radiator.
Thanks I'll look for some ¼ heater hose.

Load a Gates catalog, Find what you need, Order by part number.

Re: Where to find steam line hose?

Right, wrong, or indifferent, I used 1/4'' fuel line for my steam vent from the hard line on the block to the rad. Had lasted for the 3 years the motor was in the truck until I pulled the motor to sell the truck and swap the motor into a Tahoe, and it lasted longer than the Dayco or Gates (can't remember what brand) heater hose I used as it developed a couple of pin holes a year before yanking the motor.
