Brush guard

Do you think this brush would fit a stock 79 Chevy bumper? This is on craigslist and the guy does not know what it came off of

Only way to really know is to test fit it on your truck,They made them for dodge and ford and they all look just alike too.

Re: Brush guard

Have him measure the distance between the bolt holes, then do the same on you truck.

FYI, not all of the brush guards made used the four center bolts in the bumper. The one I just got uses two of the bumper bolt location and two from the underside, which appears this one does as well.

I bought mine right off the guys truck. Saw him riding down the road, followed him until he stopped. Rolled the window down and asked "Hey, you want to sell that bumper guard?" $50.00 bucks and fifteen minutes later it was sitting in the back seat!

Always pays to carry tools :-)

Enjoy,

Okay thanks, the guy wants 50.00 but I am going to see of he will take 25.00 for it and then for that price I can make it fit. I am felling lucky since I just scored a brand new LMC bumper from craigslist for 150.00. It didn't come with instructions how to hook up the lights in the bumper. Do I just splice it into the rear back up lights or just use a toggle swith for those lights? It is the 49-9898

looks nice, watch some bush guards are cut/contured to the shape of the bumper, but lights in the bumper cool idea for a trailer,I'd run a toggle back to the dash, could be made to work both ways or off

Re: Brush guard

I bought the brush guard for 35.00 but it has one spot that had a big rust spot. I sanded the spot and put rust convertor on it and will probably paint that a couple small spots with silver paint but not sure how to treat surrounding chrome. Does anyone have a good solution for protecting peeling chrome. Does nail polish work, clear coat,, super glue???? I still don't know if it will fit the truck since it is in another town but hopefully this weekend I can try it along with the bumper
