250 monojet carb to intake gasket help
1 Attachment(s)
Just got my new gasket and it's about 1/8 inch thick. The old one that's on there is about 3/8 in thick. Just wondering if anyone has an explanation for this. Here's a pic of the oldAttachment 1431640

Re: 250 monojet carb to intake gasket help
Thick gaskets are a popular way of reducing engine heat from over heating the carb and boiling the fuel.
The thick gasket becomes an insulator between the intake manifold which is heated by the exhaust and the carb. |

There are thicker gaskets. The one that came with my carb rebuild kit was about 5/16 thick.
