New OLD plate day!
It's been a long time coming, but after a wait of four months, my YOM plates are approved, and on my truck. One more piece of the puzzle. I was really happy to find a set that was good, and had the patina that matches the truck perfectly. I mounted them with security screws so they won't walk away. The truck spends more time outside than my 65 Impala that also has YOM plates.

Re: New OLD plate day!
Did you restore yours or were they in that great a shape?
I'm working through a collection of 1400 license plates from 1918 up. Majority are from Quebec, we just found a box of Ontario and another from NY state. The owner who has passed, collected for 60+ years. |
Re: New OLD plate day!
Both sets are original. The ones on the Impala look like they were never used. I searched for those for two years, and had to buy a set of ten years of sets to get them. This was back when it was free for ON YOM plates, they're now over $250. However, they will now transfer old plates that the numbers have been reused (but not for a long time). This will allow more plates to be used, as many of the old numbers were reused for trailer plates. Speaking of that, I should email them my extra numbers and see if they're good. I think I have everything from 59 to 73...

Hmmm, something to investigate. Course they won't do the same in Quebec because les estie d'anglais l'ont faite!
