AC Cowl Vent not closing all the way on recirculate

Been lurking and searching for a while, but cannot find an answer, so...

On my 71 factory air C10, I go to A/C inside air, my cowl fresh air door moves to close but its like the adjustment is off or there is not enough throw in the valve to close the door all the way. It only makes it about half way to where it needs to be to shut off the hot Phoenix summer air. Is there an adjustment? Or should I be looking for something particular to get it to close off completely? Thanks for the help!

Check the vacuum line for any cracks.

Mine had a build up of leaves, sticks etc. that was keeping it from closing all the way.

Try to close it with a vacuum pump.

Okay guys worked on it last night. I did use a hand vacuum pump as davis suggested. Ended up being one of the screws that holds the firewall bushing in was too long and the door hit it as it rotated. Trimmed a few threads off of it and viola! Then I went ahead and replaced all of the vacuum lines that lead to the control panel and the vacuum reservoir. My control panel has 3 ports so I teed into the plunger line and capped off the 3rd port on the dash. This was to accommodate my new heater control valve which is a vacuum to close style. Thanks for the help!
