1970 gmc 1500
I am new to the forum and finally got my first old truck. I have been looking for awhile for an unmolested original. White top with blue and then white rocker panel below molding.
Picking it up next week and hope all goes well. PB, PS, 350 V8 Automatic. Big towing type mirrors. AM radio still works. Appears to have 52K miles. Looks like no rust with wood bed that is black and looks mint. It seems the GMC is much rarer to find. Any advantage to this or just personal preference? I was looking for whatever one popped up. Wish me luck. I cannot wait. |

Re: 1970 gmc 1500
Personal preference, mainly a different grill, front fenders same as 67-68 chevy, basicly the same truck.

Re: 1970 gmc 1500
As I have been reading the board and looking at the pictures from the seller the truck appears to be a 1970 Sierra Grande. (script on rear bed panels)
Blue vinyl interior. Seat, carpet, steering wheel, door panels, glove box and even the dash bezel are a matching blue. Exterior is White/Med Blue/White. Wood grain on top of door panels, lower body side molding and tail gate molding. Chrome hubcaps and this one has a wood bed. (it is black though) I cannot see a headliner photo so not sure on that. This all appears correct from what I have been reading. I guess I found an original rare bird here. I cannot wait to pick her up. |

Very clean and rust free. I got home and after a 2 day 665 mile ride.
Had an issue or two plus radiator tank weeping so need a new radiator but I made it. |

Inside shots after I cleaned it some. Also bumpers are pit free, like new!!
Owner was son in law of first owner so one family. She ran great I was going 65-70 mph on I-90 east of Cleveland to Schenectady NY. The radiator had a cap on a outlet that was capped and the cap was cracked so I developed a coolant squirt. Happened near an Auto Zone on the last Ohio exit so I got a new cap. She has plenty of power and flew up the mountains across Vermont. I got it for under 9K. I thought it was a steal. Also a rare GMC Sierra Grande. I will take a photo of glove box tag tomorrow. |
