Bug spray on late model headlights
Anyone tried this besides me? Spent some time cleaning up my 97 Silverado today. The mosquitoes were pretty bad here in NJ and hosed myself down with some OFF just after I was looking at my hazy original headlights.
I'll be darned but it worked and the headlights look much better. The rag I used had a lot of yellow residue on it. Tried it on the tail lights and again they look better and the rag had the same yellow residue. Paul |

I use a clay bar on just about everything metal, plastic, or glass. A friend just told me about a meguir's product called "356". Bugs just washed off he said.

Re: Bug spray on late model headlights
I was thinking of this thread when a customer came in last week. He had a bottle of deep woods OFF in the trunk that leaked and ate through the plastic tray it was sitting in. Stuff is pretty strong if you give it time to work.

Re: Bug spray on late model headlights
My headlights are getting pretty bad too. They are all hazed over and yellowed which makes it really hard to see at night. I've heard of the bug spray trick, but I wasn't sure it would actually work. Does it matter if the bug spray doesn't have DEET in it?

WD/40 also works good. Toothpaste also works good too. YouTube has a lot of videos that have shown before & after on all these products. |
