Do you know if a stock emblem will work? Do you have one?

Re: WTB bowtie emblem

I don't think a GM Bowtie emblem will mount up-the OEM grills have a blank spot in the shape of the bowtie that the emblem secures to.

Damn $70 for aftermarket is nuts

Re: WTB bowtie emblem

70 bucks covers the GM tax. That particular bow tie can be manipulated to work. I have that grill and the bow tie ready to be put together once I get to that stage of my project.

Manipulated how?

Re: WTB bowtie emblem

My plan is to make a bracket that will use the two mounting on the back of the bow tie to support and hold the bow tie against the grill without being visible.

May sound rickety but I ordered both the grill and the emblem thinking they were a direct fit. I started to retun them when I learned better but I like the bow tie and I want to use it. Besides I was struggling to find an original piece.

I was under the impression they were a direct fit as well. Dang!

Yeah I know... Especially since they are listed on the same page. It was only after I received my delivery when I looked closer at the fine print. Again, I'm going to make it look good. No complaints on my parts. Things work out.

Let us know how you decide to move forward.

I'm passing on the proposed bracket. I'll figure it out and make one when I get to that point in my rebuild. I like the process of figuring it out.

What are you going to do?
