Speedo Cable

I pulled my speedo cable out of my 72 and cleaned it all up, not to dirty but somewhat dry. What is the best lube to put on it. I have WD-40, White Lithium grease, Silicon, and Dry Lube, all in spray can. I also have a couple light multi greases I tubes, or do I need to pick some sort of special lube for it?
