1962 c30

Wife said we needed another vehicle because she's tired of driving me to work, so I found this bucket of rust on craigslist for $1400. I named her Scarlett O'Horror but everybody at work calls it "that Jeepers Creepers" truck.
Upside: lots of maintenance and parts replacing has been done (new alternator, radiator, master cylinder, voltage regulator, etc etc), 235 fires right up, compression is kind of low but it runs good, tranny is a little finicky going into third sometimes but not bad. It's also a stepside and even though it's a C30 it's not a dually. Win/win. Downside: it's rusty. Floorboard is rusted out along the door, rockers are shot, front fenders are dead, cab mounts are going (will the cab fly off?), the wood bed is DOA, and the electronics are iffy (turn signal is doing crazy things, no brake lights, headlights sometimes act possessed). I'd rather not have the rust of course, but I needed a running ride and my budget was $1500. This runs and came in under budget, so rust it is. |

Like the truck! I'd leave that 6 banger in there and drive it as is! Those 235's run forever! Almost. ;) :chevy:

Oil bath air cleaners were pretty popular back in the day. lol I don't like them though so I changed over to a paper style element. :chevy:

Re: 1962 c30
I'll probably change it too. Any suggestions for a good 235 air filter?

Re: 1962 c30
There's several options available. I'd check Speedway motors or Summit racing to find one you like.
