Another 9.24 this weekend

First pass was was in the 9.3x range @ 144.x mph with a 1.5x 60'. First pass on a brand new set of radials.

next pass was an equal to my previous best, exactly the same ET 9.247.. Here is the break down:

--- -----7/11 -- 8/15
60 -----1.414 - 1.424
330 ----3.811 - 3.843
1/8 ----5.870 - 5.905
MPH ---118.41-118.71
1000 ---7.681 - 7.705
1/4 ----9.247-- 9.247
MPH ---142.49- 145.23

Only difference was the new set of radials. I need to ramp the N20 in a bit faster.

The next pass I ramped the N20 in a bit faster but I think it spun just a pinch 1.43 and it slowed down as it was my 3rd 300hit pass with a 15lb bottle.. 5.956@116.96 and 9.387@140.0

Last pass I had real bad wheel hop during the burn out. Left with a 1.436 60', and about the 1/8 the vibration was bad through the 1/4. Threw a wheel weight. went 9.325 @ 142.84.

It needs a converter change for sure. I hope that gains me a few % of efficiency so I don't need to go to a 3.73. Going to try and get the front end on before next outing.

I know there is some form of high 9.0x to low 9.1x in this tune up. Just need to find it.

2 Attachment(s)
Stage 1 = 100rwhp @ 100% on the hit
Stage 2 = 200rwhp additional @ 30% on the hit all in by 1 second
In theory this should be +/- 160rwhp

The 175hit 1st stage (when I had it set that way) went 1.35 with 100% all in on the hit. But this was with 19* timing.

I figured that would be very similar to the previous single stage 175hit out of the hole. But I did not think about the lack of timing, now only 12* timing on the 2 stage. I feel it is now safe to move up 2-3 degrees, but I will move in 1 degree steps until I am happy with the mark. I am thinking that is where my reduction is 60' is comparing 1 vs 2 stage set ups. If both the single/dual stage set ups are +/- 15rwhp from each other, the 7* of additional reduction in timing is a big difference in power at the hit.

Here is a pick of #4 and #8

Right plug looks good. Cant say the same for the left. Although my plug reading skills are min at best.

What tire pressure?

For my fuel, I prefer the look of the left plug. Not sure why the right has more soot. E85 is normally very clean.

13lbs hot

But Shaun,, wasn't it a buttload hotter than it was on the last session. How much did density altitude change between outings?

But congrats anyways,, 9.2's and it went on the trailer under it's own power.. it's a GOOD DAY!

Marv,

Temp was + 5-10* so not a huge factor. I really think the low 1.4x 60's is a reflection of the reduction in timing. I plaid on the dyno one time pulling timing just to see it's effects, this was when I was making 430rwhp. 10* = 90rwhp.

Last month's 9.247 is on the left. Only difference is I shortened the 2nd stage ramp by .2 seconds.

Way to go! How quickly are you shifting into high gear for your burnout?

Vin,

I just looked at the datalogger. Low to high shift on 3 different burn outs ranged from 1.1 - 1.2 seconds.
