My 72 C10 build
 

i have a chevy 1972 pickup truck, everything on the truck is original, but i want to fix it up and upgrade the suspension and possibly the chassis.. But I'm just wondering if I should put new suspension on the original chassis, or should i get a new chassis? I plan on putting in a big block engine but don't know yet about the transmission other than I want it to be automatic.

Are you wanting OD with a higher (numerically) rear end and get halfway decent MPG or are you building for a fun truck?

If you're not going to track it a ton, then you should be just fine with cleaning up the stock frame and adding suspension pieces...many of these parts will still work for aggressive driving/autocross/track time

Plenty of vendors on here to support your habit ;)

I plan on using it on a lot of curvy roads(possibly some track time) and I want to be able to safely handle the road no matter how aggressive I'd like to get.. Since it isn't going to be my daily driver, I am less worried about the gas mileage, I also want it to sit super low to the floor, which is another reason it's crucial for me to have a strong frame and suspension for cornering at high speeds..

I haven't had a chance to see in person somebody on the track with a stock frame and sitting as low as I'd like my ride height. I guess I could always do my youtube research!! But I just want to make sure because I plan on going very fast.. Safety and control are definitely priority

If you're not concerned about mpg you can't really go wrong with a TH400 for a sbc/bbc or 4l80e for LS
