1977 GMC Desert Fox Prototype Build
 

Hello to all the truck guys. A few years back Navy_chief started a thread on rebuilding the prototype Desert Fox truck (1977 GMC K1500 equipped by Hickey Enterprises for the dealer optioned GMC Desert Fox). I purchased the truck from Navy_chief and am now in the process of restoring the truck to it's original condition just as it was back in '77.
As I proceed with the restoration I will be posting photos and updating you with the progress of this prototype truck. For those not familiar with the Desert Fox goggle 1977 GMC Desert Fox and you will be able to familiarize yourself with the truck. You should be able to find a link that Navy_chief started several years ago as well to bring you up to speed.
Work will start in earnest in September on the truck and I welcome any comments, suggestions, and help with the project.
I am hoping the restoration from start to finish is under a year. I'm shooting for 6 months. Thanks for following along.

Work Begins! I'm now at the point where the prototype 1977 GMC Desert Fox truck is being moved into my shop area to start the restoration process. I will be posting photos of the progress and looking forward to any advice from truck guys. Here's a recent shot of the truck prior to any work starting....
