Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Man! Two killer shells there! Nice score on yours Jon. How long you had it?
I wish the Oregon CL one was closer, I'd be all over it. |

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Neat brochure. Can anyone ID the color on that '65?

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Hey Jon, is yours steel as well? I imagine it could be somewhat heavy? Sure looks cool. Kinda motivates me to start cutting on the aluminum Sportsliner that is sitting in the driveway covering the log splitter.

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Thanks for the cool pic CV! There's a guy in Redwood City that has a 64 - 66 Long Fleet with one of those toppers. Sure are cool.
Just a question for anyone who has one.. Being that the tops are made of steel, what is the finish on the steel? Is it paint or galvanized? I've seen a couple of the Pullman tops that are steel but all of the ones that I have seen have been painted. |

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Haha, I should have read instead of just looking at the pictures. Very interesting indeed. Just noticed that someone had written down 235$ on the picture in the top center. Man wish they were still that cheap. It looked as if there were all sorts of options to choose from.

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Not sure if this will fit someones short bed fleetside (it's way too wide for my stepside) since it was on a ford, but here are the measurements the guy gave me:
Width = 74 and 1/2” Length = 79 and ¼” http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/rvs/5180602615.html |

Re: Gem Top Camper Shells
Thanks oem4me for posting photos of the truck a shell:metal: This is the type of old school stuff that has disappeared from the landscape. Most all shells today are boring molded fiberglass and painted the color of the body, hard to tell a pickup from a Suburban Tahoe etc. The '65 stepside might be a great addition to the "most original in existence" thread or "Fawn" trucks thread.
