Inline 6 with A/C?
I just purchased a 1971 C10 Short bed Stepside. The truck is almost totally original including the straight 6. Will this setup handle a Vintage Air system? I was not sure if I would have to put in a bigger radiator or fan shroud to keep the engine temps down. Are the compressor mounting brackets easily available or hard to find? Living in Florida.. the A/C is a must have item.

Re: Inline 6 with A/C?
You can do it. Search the message boards here. You will find some threads. You would probably want electric fans on the condenser.
The brackets for the compressor are available from Vintage Air or Old Air Products. Maybe both. Can't remember. Pulleys are another issue. I have been gathering parts to do mine. I have an extra groove to mount on the balancer and a couple options for 3 groove on the waterpump. |

Here's a GOOD thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=231031
I tried searching the site and wasn't having much luck. I'll continue to look to see if I can find a couple others that describe what they did. |

This whole "Inline 6 Picture" tread might be a good thing to look at. But this one page in particular is nice - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...258488&page=15

Re: Inline 6 with A/C?
Vintage-Air can make up the whole package.

Re: Inline 6 with A/C?
Thanks Jason for finding the thread that talked about the A/C install. I might check my local junkyard and a few swap meets to see what parts I can start gathering. I have a lots of work to do before the truck becomes a daily driver but air will be needed.
