The pic is the end of my upper clutch rod that connects to the bell crank. Is that groove supposed to be there, or am j lucky it has not broken get? It is on my 67 C10 with 3 speed.

It is supposed to be round with no groove in it. I would check the parts board on here to see if someone has one for sale. You can't post a "want
to buy" because you aren't a "Premium" member but if you see one for sale you can buy it. You could also check your local salvage yards if you have any.

Thats worn out. Mine looked the same at both ends. I welded it up and ground it back to round and it works fine. Better feel to the clutch too.

I bought parts to make up a new rod with him joints, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

I went with Heim Joints on my '68 C/10 w/292 L6. My machinist made it for me, not the LMC junk. The V8 upper clutch rods [the bent ones] may still be available from some vendors. Most junkyard examples would be severely grooved, as the OEM part was some kind of pot metal and wore thru quick.

I'm glad you mentioned the other end, I pulled it and it is as bad as this end. My son welded it up and I did the grinding. It is amazing how much slop that removed from the linkage. Thanks!
