Just bought a beauty '72 C10 custom deluxe. 350. Auto. Very good condition. No rust.

She's my first classic ride of any kind. And I'm not much of mechanic, yet. So, I wanted something that is super sound and simple mechanically. Also, I wasn't interested in anything showy or too flashy.

A few weeks ago I fell in love with a C20 online in Idaho. The same scheme as my C10 but a bit more rough and some underbody rust but still a cool rig. It was in the shop still so I didn't move on it. Meanwhile I started to get interested in the 65-66 C10s. God those are sweet! I prayed for a sign to ease my tension over making an educated decision. Then, yesterday I found this C10 one hour from my house. Same scheme as the original C20 I fell for. I went to check it out today and there was a small Boston Bruins sticker on it. I am a HUUUUGE Bruins fan. There's my sign.

Will be using her for daily driver in town and for short distance surf trips

Anyway check out the pics. I'm sure I will be on here for maintenance knowledge and the sort.

**hmm not sure all the pics posted.

Wowza thats a great first purchase for this era of truck. One sweet ride! I'd imagine you'll keep finding more and more reasons to love that truck. They are simple to work on and parts are plentiful.

THANKS. I'm super stoked on it.

Reminds of NORCAL actually. Back in 98 my first visit to my uncles in Placerville CA I remember a bunch of cool 2wd rigs with whitewater kayaks sticking out out the beds. 2wd is not so popular around here but I dig them. A little country. A little surf. A little retro. A whole lotta cool.

Thats a really nice looking truck! The seat is awesome. Were you able to get any history on the truck from the previous owner. I enjoy chasing down the history on mine and even talking to previous owners.

Great score on a really cool looking truck. Welcome to the club. Gotta tell you though, "There's no cure for it".
We all got bit at one time or the other, and here we sit. :waah:

Welcome, I think you missed on the NOT to SHOWY or FANCY, because that is very much both. Awesome truck!

Thanks guys. Oh yeah I'm certain I'm in for spending a great deal of my "fun fund" on this hobby. But, that's okay.

Ya, it is a bit of a fancy ride I guess. Most trucks around here are new big ole 4x4s or Tacos. I like the old schools and staying away from the drop or chrome wheels or graphics type of set ups.

Nice Truck! Great color.
Keep it inside dry and clean, and you's see another 43 years out of it!

Right. About that, unfortunately at this time I don't have a garage. And I live near the ocean (aka salt). So my plan is to store in warehouse once the snow flies and until it's 100% gone. But meanwhile would something like this work for in season storage:

If you live near the ocean take the right measures to keep the rust away and make sure you 'rustcheck' (process) it every year.
I'm on the other coast near the ocean and the process pays off in spades for me.
Otherwise, the damp, salt air will start to work (bad) wonders from below...it only takes 2-3 years.
Very nice truck either way....very nice!
All Good

Nice truck.

Have a look at "Fluid Film"--I spray the underside of all of my vehicles with this stuff and it works great, especially on parked up vehicles and those driven in the salt air.

Drive her home 68 miles today. Rode beautiful. 70 mph. Started and stopped perfectly. Got her home and now she won't idle without gas. Ha ha. And so it begins.
