4 Inch or 6 Inch?
 

I can't decide if I want 4 or 6 inch lift on my 72 jimmy Any advice?:gmc:

If you plan to run anything taller than a 35" tire, I'd go with the 6". I bought mine with a 4" installed, and 36/14.5's, and the previous owner had cut the front corner out of all 4 fenders to get clearance. I have 35/12.5's on it now, and I'm still concerned about clearance, with any suspension flex, after I restore the fenders to stock.

I am partial to the 4" I think that a 6" is just a little to much. But it is your choice, and depends on what you are going for. If you want big tires go with the 6". I think it will look good either way..you almost can't make these things look bad!:D

I say 9 inch with 38x15.50's !!! :D

I depends on the tires. My first blazer had a 4" with 35's. The '69 I have now has a 6" with 35's. If your going to wheel it at all, with 35's you should probably run a 6". 4" should give you enough clearance for 33's. Keep in mind, if you run wider tires (like 35x14.5's) you may need more lift. I'd be leary of running anything over 36's if your still running the stock 1/2 gear - you'll be more prone to breaks, especially if you wheel it - (although I'd love to have 9" of lift and 38's!). It can be done though! There is actually a Jimmy in my neighborhood with 39.5's on 6" of lift. He says the suspension is so stiff, the tires are the only thing that absorb the bumps.

I have a 4" with 35's,but it is not for off-road use.Any flexing and the tires grab the fender.I have a tuff country ez-ride lift,front and rear springs.It rides pretty good.Better than when stock.

I could go for the "ez-ride" part maybe then I could
get my wife to ride in my 72' :D

My Blazer currently has a four inch and 35's on it and I like it a lot. My dad has a six inch on his pickup and I also have a six on my pickup, only to clear the tires though. We went with the four icnh on the blazer so it would be so tall to get in and with the short wheel base it isn't as top heavy as when it had the ten inch on it. So it's basically up to you and what you think is the best looking and the most functional for you.

The bottom one might be 8" of lift, but I can't tell exactly. Here is mine with 6" on 35's.

Wow, thanks for the advice and pictures guys, I think seeing those is what sold me...im going with the six inch running 35s
