TH 350 Dipstick Length
 

Can anyone tell me the actual length of the stock dipstick that comes on a early 80's TH 350 transmission for my Silverado?
I'm tired of people trying to sell 10 different length's for a dipstick, that probably won't work correctly.

I took my old one into Advance Auto and matched it up with one they had in stock. If you go by the fitment on the package, it will be wrong. I can't remember what the package said for the fitment, but it wasn't right. But I went by matching it with what I had, and it was exact. But from top to bottom, it is 21 3/4".

That looks like the Oil Dipstick, The transmission dipstick has a double twist at the end that you read to see if it's full. I know it's longer than that. But thanks
I would like to know the length (Or close) of the casing that holds the dipstick too.

Overall length is about 35 inches from tip to the handle.

I tried to measure the casing but its such a tight place and it has bends. Sorry

Well it was like 2:30am, lol!! I guess I didn't see the word transmission. My bad, I just read dipstick and thought it was that. Yeah the transmission dipstick is a lot longer, sorry!!

If you don't already have the dipstick tube, remember that its specific to 73-87 pickups. I tried several TH350 tubes from other GM vehicles and none would fit right until I was able to find one that came of a 78 C10.

When the guy installed my new engine he threw away the old dipstick because it had a hole in it about 2 inches above the tranny, so I don't know what it looks like.

anyone know the original length of 84 c10 700r4 tranny dipstick. I don't have the original and would like to double ck the replacement I got.
