Installed engine from different car. What parts do I ask for?
 

I have and 81 pick up. I recently pulled a 305 from a 86 caprice. Engine is super clean must have been rebuilt recently. It had a lot of emissions items which I pulled because my truck doesn't have anything for emissions. The engine also had a computer controlled carburetor which I replaced with an ordinary quadrajet. I also installed an accel hei distributor along with some headers. My question is this. For future references when asking for parts what vehicle information do I give. A lot of things apparently aren't interchangeable. What should I set timing to? What should I gap the plugs to? What accel wireset should I buy. I have an msd box. Should I install it, would it help. Since I removed so much from the engine what info should I give the guy at the parts store? Thank
