Hello, I thought I would join this forum and share my project. I bought the truck in pieces and started with the frame, working my way up. Here are some photos of what I have started. If you have a 5.3l project, id like to here from you, see how youre going about this.

Thanks guys! Im planning on this being my first "complete" build. I work on cars here and there but they never seem to stick around. I end up making a little bit of money on them so I go on to the next one. Hoping to see this one all the way through.

Welcome geardrvn! Great fab work. There are a number of AD trucks with LS engine family installs / builds on here so lots of good info for you. I am putting one in my AD Burb.
Tagging along for your build.

It would be cool to meet up with the local guys sometime for sure. Id like to check out your projects. I am using the hiedts mustang 2 kit with power rack and pinion, and the boards rest on the ground. I expected it to fit a little better but I made it work lol. Here are some pics of the gas tank install. Its from a blazer s10 2 door. 20 gallon efi tank!

Re: 1950 GMC build, 5.3l vortec/bagged

Yeah I'm going for strong. I dont mind the extra weight in the back, keeps my tires on the pavement. The white paper is a plate im going to cut out to sturdy up the rear end. Im also having the GMC logo cut. Its going to look pretty good.

I got this leather 2nd row seat from a newer tahoe. Its a pretty tight fight but I have to put the doors on to see. It measures about 56", it will be awesome if it works out. Also got a new toy!

Motor and tranny in place. I also got the stainless headers, the stock ones wouldn't fit. I have flowmaster super 44s and running the exhaust through a rectangle stainless tip coming out of the running boards.

Made this tunnel for the driveline to go through the crossmember because its so low. Got it in today after work. The driveline will actually work, I had it from another project. Got lucky!
