Sunday ride

well, got tired of tinkering with the s10 frame, so I tinkered with the '52 and got it running and stopping on its own, kinda, and went dirt roadin'.

the old exhaust pipe was crushed so I wacked it off about 3 ft. behind the manifold. Pretty sure I have carbon monoxide poisoning, not to mention it was not easy to sneek into town for a pop...lol...but what a blast.

Excellent, congrats!

Fun running the old beast, huh?!

Yeah, it was a hoot! Snortin and bellowing about as loud as an old 6 cyl. can with the occasional backfire haha. Pumping the brakes and hoping they held in the curves. Steady drip from the radiator. Shaking and shimmying from what must be an unbalanced driveshaft. No lights, no gauges. Engine caught on fire from and old rats nest I missed under the manifold. It was better than a carnival ride! Somebody should have charged me an admission fee!!! I'm ready to go again. :D

sometimes kiss is the correct method :D
fix the brakes (and brake lights), clamp on a jy muffler and drive it
remove or loosen the radiator cap to get rid of the leak

yeah, I was thinking I should probably fix the leak in the tire and take the 1985 Oklahoma tags off of it too! ;)

They're probably pretty used to me by now considering al the contraptions they've seen me rolling through town either on or in over the years :)

Usually just admire my handy work then tell me to get it the hell home til I'm legal. I think Skaggs was the only one to actually write me a ticket a few years back.

I did get around to sending off for a bonded title today. Decided to patch it back together as is for awhile considering I don't have my shop built yet and winters coming. Sucks to work outside in the gravel in the cold and nowhere to store stuff once its apart. Been there, done that. Driveshaft is down at Larry's in Lowell for minor mods and a balance. Whoever built it came up a bit short and the yoke was barely on the splines.
