Can Control Arms add clearance?

Hello to all. I have a 1971 C10, riding on air, with the stock control arms and stock cross member. I would like to know if I bought a set of upper and lower control arms, would I gain additional ground clearance up front? when my truck is aired out, the control arms and cross member are touching the ground/pavement and where the front cab mounts are, my truck is 2 inches off the ground. I'm attempting to get front as low as possible, when the truck is aired out, without buying a drop member. I hope someone has this answer. if it doesn't rain, Ill provide pics tomorrow or soon as possible. thanks in advance. clark.

No with out a drop member the first thing to touch the ground will be your lower control arms no matter which ones you run.
