My son's first truck
 

Hey guys, I have been looking on here for a while and have picked up a lot of great info.

i just bought my son his fist truck. 67 C-10. It has a front end from a 69 and a cedar wood bed. 292 w/3 on the tree. We were considering ordering some kick panel speakers from LMC, was wondering if anyone on here had any experience with these (item #38-8520) or any others. Any input would be appreciated.

Diggin the wood dash. Not just plastic overlay, but the real deal!
Sorry, can't help with the kick panel speakers... I just went in the doors.

I have them on my 70. They work and fit good. Only thing I had to do was move my High/low beam switch over just a bit. Other than that, no issues.

theyre only held in by the door weatherstrip. not very sturdy i had to run two short sheet metal screws to secure it to the kick panal. it barely clears the e brake pull handle if you mount a grill on it

The E brake shant be a problem on his truck it is a 67 the e-brake is on a handle under the dash cluster.

You can fit SO MANY CHICKS in the back of that thing!!! Lucky guy!

I installed plastic kick panels in my truck. They were too shallow to mount a good quality speaker so I made a ring out of 1/2" board to provide a bit more clearance. Then a sawed out a backing board so that I could seal the kick panel from behind. I stuffed a bit of insulation into the kick panel cavity and then glued the plastic kick panel to the backing board using silicone sealer. Finally, I got several stick-on felt "dots" to the back of the panel so that it wouldn't rattle once attached to the metal kick panel. One small hole was drilled and a single screw was used to secure the kick panel assembly in place. I am getting a decent bass response out of these 6" speakers now.
