Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
WOW heavily optioned truck! Very nice, but if you are going factory stock, alot of parts are needed. What do you want to drive??? If you do decide to "build it",FYI Just save the parts for someone that is building an original.

Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
I like it swap the bumpers paint the wheels white ditch thr trim rings add hubcaps and itll be perfect

Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
true,
its a true gem and I think keeping it close to original is the way to go. my 68 anniversary gold reminds me to keep things close to original. i agree with ditching th bumpers... and a brand new motor to boot! |
Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
trim rings or are those original split rims? I can't really tell from here on my perch. That is one very nice truck. While it would be wonderful restored, it's got a fresh replacement engine, or so it looks. I say make it look as original as possible outside, resto the interior, and do whatever you want to the drivetrain - 2004R, o/d 5-speed, you name it. Something so you can truly enjoy driving the wheels off of it, even if you did buy it from the original owner! I would take the time to replace the front bumper and even the original split rims. Over to you on wheel color - I think 67 K's were black originally, but don't quote me on that. But black 16.5x6.75s with STA super traxions (9.50-16.5) would look wonderful(!) Paint looks fresh too. This is the perfect kind of truck to enjoy - and not fret over frame-off stuff. Looks like the hardest part is done, you get to tinker and refine, and that's a blast. Enjoy and I'd love to see some interior pics? Any plans for some aftermarket ac? A nice vintage one would look sweet and make your cruising a bit more fun. Then again, if you're in SB, you probably never need ac!
EDIT: Oops, sorry, was thinkin 3/4 ton! Skip those 16.5s... Maybe some 71+ K10 wheels and front disks then. |

Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
I've been in love with these trucks for over 30 years
And have owned over a dozen and I've never seen the air injection option. I started doing some research to find out... Other options that are 4wd specific too. Way cool truck virtually rust free. I think it came down to the care and meticulousness of the p.o. Who stay up on every detail... |
Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
I like the green, I like the white top, I like that it's 4x4, I like it's shortbed, Posi trac. super KOOL truck did I say I like... the front fender looks odd without the marker side lites.. I know that yr didn't come with them...we need more Pictures please...

Re: 1967 SWB 4Wd original owner
Thank Randy!
I promise I'll upload more when I get back from in a couple of weeks... Sorry!!! I'll also tell you guys the story on how I found this fine beauty... I had a glimpse of the tailgate in the garage of this super nice old lady. I said " nice truck" not realizing truly what it was... She said " wanna buy it? I was working and couldn't take the time to check it out or negotiate for that matter... I said give me your number I'll come and see it tomorrow... Btw this just happened yesterday ! I get so fricken excited about these trucks and add to that the 3 cups of coffee I just drank ! Lol Any way I called her and made an appointment she said sure come on by I'll pull her out today the garage. I showed up and my jaw dropped! I could barely sleep last night just thinking about driving it... Now I'm on a shuttle on my way to lax and my mind is going! Is this a test of patience or what!!! |

Excellent buy! Glad it found a good home. The vintage CB is sweet. I vote white steel wheels.
