Just like the title says, it's back!! Built this truck for my dad 20 years ago. Then he sold it. Then last night we drove 300 miles one way to buy it back. Its a lil rough from over the years. But it's back for good. Cheyenne super stretch cab, 4x4, 3/4ton, 454, turbo 400/205. As you can see, Dad was very excited I found it again.

Re: It's back!!

I just saw this truck when I went to pickup the Orange 72 in the background of the first picture. This truck is in nice shape for a 20 year old build. Its got some wear and tear on it from 20 years of driving but I couldn't see any indication of the seams, the truck is solid and the original build is really holding up well.

Was the frame power coated? From what I saw it was in better shape than the frame on my 2004. Make sure you upload some picts after you get the goodies installed.

Chris

Thanx Chris. Glad you and your daughter made it home safely with the cream sickle. Yes the frame and whole drivetrain is powder coated. Thanx again Chris. Take care of the 3 you got from me. :( lol.

you don't see those around anymore. Glad you could bring it back home to the biggest little city in Oregon. Why change that front bumper with the rubber on it, I think it's cool being original but that's why it's your truck. You getting all this rain out east?

Re: It's back!!

The DHS Officer at Eastport was pretty impressed with the Cream sickle, he is a old Chevy truck guy and he keeps an eye out for them crossing the border. He was telling me that I got a really good price from you as he see's a lot of junk for more money crossing.

Did a little to the stretch last couple days. Tinted the Windows, put new front bumper on, took running boards off, and tunes it up. I changed my mind, going to put 6" lift on now and chrome 20's and 35's. Hopefully next week end.

Very cool truck. What kind of windows are in the stretched part of the cab?

GM didn't make many of those!

An extended cab would really give me the room I desire for all the tools I like to carry. Congrats on the (re)find.

80's dodge van side door Windows. No GM sure dropped the ball back then. Every time I work on it, I fall more in love with it again. I'm also thinking when I paint it again, going Jonny Cash on it!! LONG. AND BLACK!!!

That's a big girl!

Congrats on getting her back!

Curious... has it been gone for +/-19 years... or just a couple?

CRMW 11-30-2015 02:02 PM

Re: It's back!!

I've seen it and its huge! With the lift and tires it could be a problem as it will go over small mountains without noticing. If you were to get the front wheels up a snow bank or on the trunk of the Toyota in front you, a ladder would be needed to get to ground level.

When I saw it, I expected to be able to see the body seams where it was stitched together but after 20 or so years, the main reason for a respray is pealing clearcoat.
