bagged 68 longbed stepside on wide whites

I bought this truck for a few hundred bucks with a blown tranny. I put a rebuilt turbo 350 transmission in it to get it running. It has a healthy sounding 350 in it. The plan is to bag it on black steelies and wide whitewalls. Mexican blanket the interior. Faux patina paint job that my 2 young sons can help me with. They are 3 and 5 and are super excited!!!

I decided to use the lift at work to remove the bed. Had to torch off every single bolt, what a pain. I want to make a raised wood bed floor. I'll put the bed back on to drive it home.

Got her home!! Parts are starting to roll in and got my wheels and tires mounted and balanced. Bought the cheap Cragar Steelies Summit offers, they are only $50 a piece and look cool. Coker L78's on 15x7 front and back.

Bought a Boyd Welding gas tank from Travis at Pro Performance. I don't like the tank inside the cab. Filled the old hole.

Very cool. looks like you are starting with a pretty solid truck too. Good on you getting your kids involved. Same as my dad did with me and my brother back in the mid sixties. I blame all my car addiction on that introduction. :metal:

Took the gauge cluster apart and cleaned then repainted it. New carpet. Some new trim pieces and weather-stripping. Took the door panels and dash apart and used 3M spray adhesive to upholster them. Found the blankets on ebay for $20 each. I got a seat rebuild kit from LMC and redid all the framing that was bad then reattached the original seat covers that are in excellent shape. I then did the Mexican blanket over top that and attached with hog rings. Also spent hours removing some 1980's window tint. I'm really pleased with the interior. It looks awesome in person.

Started tearing into the front suspension and cut off the factory bump stops. Getting ready for the airbags. I bought all my suspension stuff from Travis at Pro Performance, he's a big help!
