700r4 pan leak

I cannot get the pan/gasket to seal on my 700r4. I have gone through 2 OE pans and 3 gaskets. It's been suggested that I try an aluminum pan and/or a rubber gasket with steel inlay. Can anyone attest to using either of those? If so where did you get them? Thanks

I have a 3 quart aluminum 700r4 pan for sale. Send me a PM if interested. It wasn't leaking when I pulled it so that might be a good sign.

Double check the seal for the TV cable. Seen alot of those leak and mask themselves as a pan gasket leak. Also check the seal for the fill tube....

Agree with abeamn7. Also check the o ring around the selector shaft, and pull the converter shield off and look for wetness, pump seals sometimes disguise themselves as pan leaks too.

Another possibility, my pan gasket leaks but only after sitting for several months, the converter drains back and over fills the case.

The selector shaft seal does have a minor leak but you nailed it with the pump seal. We put it on the rack the other day and left it overnight and determined the pump seal was definitely most of the fluid leak. Still trying to determine if my tv needs adjusted properly of if I have an internal problem before pull the transmission. If its internal I'm just gonna wait to do the 5.3/4L60E swap.
