Help identify a very strange sliding rear window??

Hi, I'm trying to identify a rear 67-72 slider. It is exact dimensions to other rear sliders I have however this one sits in the rubber seal flush to the back of the cab and has a two piece frame. There is a full size interior trim piece that screws on the after you install the window. My thoughts are that it was meant to install after cutting a small window cab larger where you wouldn't have the pinch weld, or could it have been out of a C30.. not sure if they were different. I've searched google and forums for a month without any luck, if anyone has ever seen a two piece frame design it would be a great help. I just don't want to take the time restoring the window if it can't be used. Thanks!

Welcome to the site, wouldn't have been a C-30 they were the same as 10's and 20's. It wouldn't have been from something larger they had smaller back glasses. I had a window sounds similar to what your describing but it was for a 88 body style truck it looked so funky.

Hi.. and thanks. I'm old to the site (my handle was dakman) but I haven't been around for a while and now my old account doesn't work. I had to create a new profile to get a hold of a moderator in hopes of fixing it but no replies to my PM's.

As for the window it's a strange one. I have 4 other 67-72 sliders and it's the same dimensions, just a weird frame. I'll get some pictures of it soon, hopefully it helps. It also has a latch on each slider outer edge instead of the one latch in the center.

Sounds like a JC Whitney product or similar unit. one size fits all.

The exterior drain holes location on the bottom of the frame in the first picture are there because the seal captures the outer frame. This slider is flush to the back of the cab, doesn't stick out like all the others I've seen.

this last pic shows how the seal sits around the frame.

Could that be a conversion type window? the trim piece make me think the glass is for one that has had the small glass cut to a full glass size. the trim piece would sandwich the glass in since no pinchweld. the rubber would then seal the outside from leaking.
I have no idea other than that.does that sound plausible?

not sure if they existed but that's what I'm thinking as well.. it was the first slider I ever bought and it was laying on the floor of a 67. I never thought to look at the cab to see if it had been cut.

That looks like the slider window out of my canopy.
