My new gauges arrived - Custom New Vintage USA
I've been in the need for a set of modern gauges to go with the LS swap into my '74. In my other project I used the Dakota Digital VHX setup, but the modern font and colors have bothered me. I recently saw a new set of gauges show up in the LMC catalog and found out they are manufactured by New Vintage USA out of Detroit. With the '74 Sierra Grande I'm trying to keep the interior very stock looking so I reached out to these guys to see if they could help me, and they most certainly can. We actually based these on the graphics from the later ('77) clusters as I like the look of the blue inner KM/h markings. A big thanks to Mark and Ben from New Vintage USA, these turned out awesome. For your viewing pleasure...

Very nice!!! It appears the shipped them with the tach and speedo in the wrong spot. Was it much of an issue swapping them back?

Re: My new gauges arrived - Custom New Vintage USA
Looks good. I noticed them too in LMC. Summit has them as well for a little cheaper. And I agree with the modern looking Dakota gauges. I like the stock looking as well. I`m thinking about doing these gauges in my 85. Did the directions say anything about them just plugging in or is there extra work to be done?

Re: My new gauges arrived - Custom New Vintage USA
Saw that you had this color combo custom made. Didn't see anything on their site that looked close to this. How much extra for this color combo? Looks great with the woodgrain.
How will you wire up the speedo? where does it get its signal? |
Re: My new gauges arrived - Custom New Vintage USA

Re: My new gauges arrived - Custom New Vintage USA
Beautiful - hope they add that font to their standard lineup.

The speedo is digital so it will pull the signal from the ECM for the LS motor. What I didn't mention above is that I had them add a brake warning light and check engine light to the speedo cluster so I can hook that up to the ECM as well. |

Re: My new gauges arrived - Custom New Vintage USA
Thats cool. They make some nice stuff. I like the sweep speedos for car retrofits. I was hoping they'd have some other ones in stock fonts (81-87) but doesn't look like thats an off the shelf thing.

mikentosh...
I was looking into the NVA gauges for my '74. Were you able to retain the stock turn signals? And how about the shift indicator? As I understand it, from talking to Ben at NVA, the only thing retained is the Bezel. The lens, circuit and housing are replaced with their own housing and it didn't retain the signals or indicator... |
