Buckets and Console for sale - unique find ! Look
5 Attachment(s)
I have a really cool set of buckets and console for sale. I had never seen a set like this. I have a ton of pictures to post. I want you to know exactly what you're buying. They are As-Is, what you see is what you get.
The story behind this set, they were removed from a 69 CST LWB about 16yrs ago. The guy I bought them from said it was his mother's truck and she liked the bench seat better. They were in storage until about a week or so ago. This (from what I understand) is a 69 only thing, where you'd have a two tone combo. The lower section of the seats is a darker green, and they have darker green piping to highlight the aqua color. Really sharp, and of course the console to match. Just a note on the seat frames. There is minor surface rusting, but not bad at all. Absolutely no rust through, but there is quite a bit of splattered glue when they glued the foams in at the factory. The foams are still really firm for 46 year old pieces. The passenger seat is especially nice except for the split seam. The console is only in fair condition. The hinge is kinda rusty and the ashtray is missing. The chrome trim would clean up nice. Just a few little places here and there. The middle part of the console has a small crack in the corner as shown in the close up picture. The bow tie emblem on the console lid is decent. The best thing about the console is the bottom. The mounting holes on the bottom are perfect... no cracks at all. And the grain is really nice and even. This would make a great set for a patina truck or you could always fix the padding and recover them. 69-70 buckets are pretty hard to find and I just didn't have the heart to strip the original covers since they were the two tone style. Pretty unique actually. I'll ship Greyhound to your nearest terminal, post your zip and /or nearest terminal for rates. $600 for the set, plus shipping or best offer Seats, console, and a set of passenger side fixed brackets. I don't have the drivers side brackets, they are not included. The first 'I'll take them' in the thread - buys them. Pics: .. a lot of them |

A little trivia...
Adding to the unique nature of this set is the also unique 1969 console which, like the one original to my 69 CST, does not have four screws through the sides that attach the top to the bottom. Instead, the top and bottom halves are secured using rivets on the inside. I don't know if all 1969 consoles were this way. Below is a page from the assembly manual that verifies this construction. |

Here is a picture of the stationary seat brackets that Chad is including for the passenger seat. They have been media blasted, epoxy primed and painted. They have a few scratches from being stored but otherwise they are really nice.

Thanks for the info about the console. I didn't know that either. Maybe it was an early run 'thing' in 69 when they went to this type of bucket and console design ?

The seats alone range from $250 (usually needing foams) to $450 for decent ones with salvageable original foam.. IF you can find them. The foam in these seats are still in good shape. Then let's hope the frames are not rusty. These are not perfect but you could easily recover them and have a good interior guy fix the drivers side. No problem. So let's call it $500 for the cores, even without the brackets. I paid $250 for a good original set of 69 / 70 cores and they looked like a lion has been a hold of them. The console is good, .. not great. I've paid $100 for a good console, no cracks around the bolt holes, but still needing a good trim ring, bowtie emblem etc. The passenger brackets are $79 for reproduction - I figure these original GM are worth $60 cleaned up and repainted. The drivers brackets are rare I know. So, at $650 I'm not asking any more than going prices. Nothing to prove, just saying at $650 it's a fair price. I appreciate the offer but I'll pass. |

Thanks for the reply, but I was figuring on using new foam, if I were to put that much into a set of sets I don't want stinky old foam in them. I see that you originally asked $600.00 and now have raised your price to $650.00 also. I think they would be nice, but I'll have to pass also.

He didn't raise the price. If you will look at the first post you will see that the seats are for sale for $600. He is explaining why they are worth at least $650 compared to what individual seats, console and brackets might cost you elsewhere on the board. If you are going to replace the foams, buy some junk seats and have at it. These don't need new foam and they DON'T STINK. They have been in dry storage for 16 years. Just sayin'... |
Re: Buckets and Console for sale - unique find ! Look
I would almost sell the BuddyBuckets from my 72 one ton to buy those but my wife would probably kill me ,she likes the Buddy's .

Re: Buckets and Console for sale - unique find ! Look
Just to clarify $600 for the set as you see them. If they haven't sold in a few days I'll restore them myself, then sell them complete in the spring. I'm in no hurry to sell them.
Pop is right I was just piece pricing them out if you had to put this set together it would cost $650 minimum.. just my opinion I guess. The foams could be saved in these. Have you priced new USA made foams old51sedan ? |
