Poll: What color to paint 68 C10 SWB w/Parchment interior?
 

Im working on a 71' C10 with a 68' front clip V8 3 on the tree. Truck was originally Copper and white with Parchment interior. I'm struggling with keeping the copper color. The inside needs a good cleaning, an armrest and dash pad. The interior paint is in good shape. Do I repaint only the exterior the copper leaving the top and nose white? Or do I change the interior and exterior color? I'm leaning towards an orange, red or blue color? What do you think?

Do I repaint only the exterior the copper leaving the top and nose white? I think yes but if want to go blue, they don't get much better looking than this truck .. Oh yea, you need the bodyside moulding too.

Yeah, and the mods you see are all they need to look super hot. Cool 'n' Classy never goes out of style. K.I.S.S. Whatever color you do, keep it a '68 color. If you paint it a '71 color it will look like a '71 with a '68 clip. I love the medium bronze, but I've known these trucks so well for so long it looks cheap to me to use a newer color. I pretty much like the gold to brown range of shades the best. Medium Gold Poly looks great and that's what a 50th anniversary used (or damn close). I painted a project that way

Consider the copper and white. It looks even better in person. I love black, red and original blue truck also, but the copper gets more compliments than my other trucks have with those colors.

if you're happy with the bronze met interior, then I'd do what you suggest. On the other hand - how far are you disassembling? Or how far are you willing to disassemble? If pretty far, then paint the whole thing however you like. The blue above is one of my favorites also. Hugger and white top/nose is nice too. Bottom line, if you are up for painting the int, then go with whatever you want AND keep or make the nose and roof white (just plain right for a 67 to do so) - if not and you're ok with bronze met, go with that on the exterior only. Whatever you do, main body color and interior should match (on a 68 or later). Have you considered saddle metallic?? (but with a white top still...) :):):)

Copper is probably the best looking color on these truck IMO.

I couldn't add the picture when I edited my prior post. Here is a '68 ground-up build from parts painted to look like a 50th. I know you weren't considering gold, but to broaden your perspective...(hopefully not a bad thing.

Thanks for the input guys! Traded a set of 17" American Racing Nova wheels and tires for a set of 15X8 Rallys and 275/60/15 raised white letter tires. Rockers, cab corners and floor work starts next week. Then I'll spend a little time under the hood with her then it's off to paint.

Keep those opinions coming. At this point looks like it's getting painted medium bronze(I call it copper).

although its not done yet. This is mine. I love the color. Its red with a candy mid coat (sorry for the blurry picture)

If you look at my 72 K10 build thread the med. bronze and white paint codes are on there. We nailed the factory hue. The newer paints have a more brilliant color and depth in the metallic.

It really popped and I love it. Now mind you I'm a mainly black vehicle driver and sometime red. BTW my pictures really don't do it justice.

The parchment interior paint is used with the "warm" colors like red, ochre, tan or copper colors like you original two-tone cab.

copper and white looks great and makes it classy , just not blue ,green or another resale red there all over done IMHO .:smoke:

I'd vote for the original Copper & White; it's relatively rare or at least not common; it matches the SPID, and looks great with that interior.
