A friend of mine bought this truck, put a new GM crate engine in it and went down south to get a load of square bales of hay. He has drive eighteen wheelers all his life but had never pulled a pintle hitch trailer. The trailer started walking going down a hill. He rolled two times and ended up on the bank beside the road. The engine has 288 miles on it. This was a very clean old truck.

He didn't get hurt in the wreck, but when he started to step back toward the road, a five foot deep ditch was covered with loose hay and he hurt his back and ankle when he fell in that.

You know, I have been wanting one of those for a long time, I have the spare front that one needs[except the grille it was cut out with a sawzall] The cab wouldn't be a problem just clip in a big glass roof from a later truck.
I'm glad your friend wasn't hurt, that is just metal and metal can be replaced. I know a lot of guys get worked up when I say that but having lost a brother in a car wreck I think it gives me the leeway to say it. Jim

It will sit there unless someone saves it. He bought a Freightliner and flatbed. I'm sure it could be had for the price of scrap iron.

That was a nice truck, it looks like it's been sitting there a while.

Yeah, this all happened over two years ago, but I was by there the other day and took these pics and just now put them on my computer.

What a ride that was. Look at how the top skin pulled loose.

That top was mashed down against the dash.
