regretted selling my '70 so i bought this '72
tis the season to be wasting money...

I don't even know how it held together on my trip home. kinda scary. sucks that I had to shell out cash I wasn't expecting to but at least its only the diff and not the entire housing etc etc. I decided to go with an Eaton limited slip that is currently in route. im going to do the diff swap, diff seals, axle seals, wheel cylinders and brake shoes all at once. hope to have it buttoned up by the weekend. http://www.speednik.com/files/2012/0...loded-view.jpg I also decided to pep up the gear ratio from 3.08 to 3.42. it will hurt fuel mileage slightly but once I ditch the 18" wheels (current tire diameter is 28.5") and go to a 17" setup (which will have a tire diameter of 30") it shouldn't be too bad. so while im waiting for the rear end parts to arrive im going to continue to pick away at the list of little stuff I want to do. *continuing with the long winded post* I took off the old 13" billet steering wheel it came with and bought another 15" comfort grip steering wheel I noticed that the previous owner for some reason ditched the column spring and signal cancel cam/horn conductor. so I sourced both of these little jerks https://pontiworld.com.au/usgmsp/images/CamDisc.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/-CcAAO...oLy/s-l300.jpg in addition to that he wired the horn to a separate switch under the dash...!??!?!?! so ill wire it back up the column. I already bought the part just need to find the time. I may even cruise over to the truck shop and pick up some new cab cushions (the current ones look like they needed replacing in 1993) along with a repop correct style 10" rear view mirror and wiper washer motor. once I get all this stuff sorted out ill start to plan out the next phase... the big question...n/a or boost |

nice looking truck , but I see a few issues first thing I would figure out is gas gauge why is it on E , and I noticed Kanye West on the stereo , I would deposit that about 70 MPH out the window, that should help you out

forgot to mention that im addressing the fuel gauge issue too. the previous owner claimed that the fuel gauge was working until recently and suspected that the contacts on the sender may have come off. but when I get working on the rear end ill be poking around there too.
as for my music... I have no shame listening to the kanye/jayz album. |

Nice Truck! Love the idea of the Torque thrust rims, the burrito looks pretty tasty... Oh and as far as Kanye, hey man what ever floats yer boat... When I'm out in my 70 I'm usually jammin to some Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash or the Black Keys... Different strokes and all that...

yeah i listen to anything and everything to keep me awake...after all it was a 1500 mile drive i did in 21 hours straight
anyway last night i finished up the steering wheel install, put on the new firewall boots for the column and brake and put in the cigarette lighter. i think im going to wire it with an inline fuse though so i have power when the truck is off. slowly making progress |

Beauityful truck, perfect motor & trans, mean stance and outstanding look with those wheels and tires.
The cig lighter socket in every American car I have ever owned stays on while the car ignition is off. Now my wifes stupid euro benz is only on with ignition on. |

the speedo is actually about 5mph SLOW vs GPS verified speed...but i get the speed limit joke
