Going to put a new tank in my 64, are the anti squeak pads glued in?

The pads that were on mine weren't....when I replaced the tank I never reused them. lol Never even squeaked. :chevy:

I put mine in with no pads. Tight straps... no squeaks.

Mine were not glued in either, but they were of a tar type construction that made them appear like that. You can get replacement ones from LMC I believe. I went with a rear mounted gas tank so I didn't need to replace them.

A small piece of roofing ice shield will replicate the pads nicely.
