aftermarket steering wheel on 72 k5
got one from pep boys that they said would fit. no splines and different bolt pattern on new wheel. am i missing something?
i ask because i have to start this thread from laptop but add pics from phone so I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. probably shoulda got a c 10 wheel at a junkyard right? mine has been chewed on by squirrels/rats in a barn |
Re: aftermarket steering wheel on 72 k5
Most aftermarket wheels require the use of an adapter kit from the same company. I have a grant gt wheel on one of mine and it required the adapter kit. You should be able to either google or ask at PepBoys what kit you need.

It's strange that the kit had no splined component but was supposed to work on my truck.
Thanks for response.... Will do homework |
Re: aftermarket steering wheel on 72 k5
well there's your problem right there- the people at my pep boys dont know a screw from a battery. Dont know if your pep boys is this way, mine is. I put a grant 967 steering wheel in my blazer and it does indeed require separate mounting hardware. horn adapter kit as well
