134A Big Parallel Flow Condenser Install
 

Recently installed this huge parallel flow condenser. Its about the biggest that will fit without altering anything. Made it so it would bolt in the factory location and accept the factory lines. Couldn't get confirmation of a bolt-in "true parallel flow" condenser from anywhere. Classic Auto Air and Old Air Products sell a bolt-in unit but at least up to the last time I checked, it is a piccolo condenser. You can just google "parallel flow vs piccolo", there is a difference.

Looks good, care to share more info like where you bought it from, stock number and price? I am currently looking for a new setup for my truck, debating on going factory or aftermarket. Details would be greatly appreciated!

It was made out of a universal unit you can pick from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/UAC-CN-20006...ZUorj6&vxp=mtr
This is the one I used. If you are interested I should be able to get a better deal than that price.

You made the elbow lines? My Mastercool set didn't have dies large enough.

I was thinking about putting one of those in my truck when I put ac back in it. I found a 14 X 27 one for $48 I was going to use. You will have update us on how well it cools

It was a little while back but shop left the shop blowing 38-39 degrees. But everything was gone through. I completely restored the system with new parts minus the evaporator which I fushed and pressure checked. I also rebuilt and calibrated the poa valve for 134a. Also used an alauminum A6 replacement compressor. Last pic is of a ac box I am wrapping up now

A conversion done right, great job. Only thing that would make it better is a pusher fan in front of the condenser. Only problem is no room for that due to the hood latch support.

Thanks, I believe going through it all is pretty much the only way to eliminate any unknowns that could cause there to be issues. Even then, when I put the system in a vacuum, it wasn't holding. Filled the system with nitrogen to leak test it and turned out to be bad coupler O-rings on the machine hoses. But yea, putting a electric fan would be the final thing that one could do but not much room like you mentioned

If you are like me and are stumbling across this thread years later and find the link doesn't work, I did some digging into the link and it appears this is a Universal Air Conditioner CN 20006XC A/C Condenser. Searching for UAC CN20006XC will bring it up. As of today it's $68 on Amazon and $43 on Rock Auto. I want to upgrade my Condenser and am sick of multiple companies selling supposedly parallel flow kits for $295+ when I can buy a drier and Condenser for $54 + Shipping at Rockauto that likely works better and will be cheaper/easier to replace if my compressor blows up up. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone!

Thank you for this. I am going through the process of restoring my 72 K5 and have been all over the webs on this stuff. Ive got the Sanden 4404 compressor out of a 97 C1500 with the serpentine and all of that. I am working on adapting the POA valve and all of that into the system. I have the original evap core with the tag still on it. Hopefully she's solid. That will save me the trouble of a conversion in that portion of the system.
