Rustoleum Paint job?
 

Looking to get new color on my truck. Im not worried at ALL about messing up the current crap paint job. Its mainly green with a red fender and a white hood. Ive seen a few stories of people painting their cars for less than $100 and ill have that WAY sooner than ill have a few k to spend on a real paint job. Opinions?

Tractor supply I use the Matte black on my frames and it works great !:chevy:

I did a satin black roller paint job on my budget 72 GMC and it looked okay. A lot better than the existing paint.

Go to Home Depot and buy a $40 spray gun. Pepboys has paint in gallons or use the gallon of Rustoleum flat black and add a quart of gloss black for a nice satin black.

just as an experiment I used the high gloss black on my frame horns and inner fender wells with pretty much no prep it's held on for 2 years now. I was going to use it on that bed I built but my buddy donated some paint at the end. I have heard that the tractor supply stuff doesn't hold up to the sun very well though. lots of info on the tractor forums out there

probably shouldn't admit to this... but when i was in college i painted my 1990 k20 with krylon rattle cans in the dorm parking lot. just did a little buffing with a scotchbrite on my drill, taped it off and went to town. i even did two tone! the meter maid drove by while i was in mid spray with 10 pounds of newspaper all over. she stopped her golf cart. stared for a minute. shook her head and drove off. those were the good old days. oh and i thought it turned out pretty good. didn't look quite like a real paint job but most people wouldn't know it was spray paint. it held up really well for several years til i sold it. my $100 paint job was appropriate for me and my $1,000 truck.

My neighbor did it with a spray can.
I painted a F*rd E150 with a roller years ago, using Benjamin Moore oil based exterior house paint. It looked much better than when I bought it.

I use Rustoleum semi-gloss black rattle can on frame parts, inner fender wells, brackets, radiator support etc. As w/most paint work, the key is in the prep; even average paint will do well on clean, dry rust/grease free surfaces.

When your truck is 6 colors and your broke, it is the way to go. I had green, white, maroon, grey, primer red, and black on mine. It looks better, but the dream is still a quality paint job.

OK, now don't laugh to hard. When I lost my shop in the divorce i needed to keep my bed from rusting so...I used a rattle can in each hand and came up with this
