The long journey home...

5 Attachment(s)
Went to one of my favorite unting grounds and brought back this 68 swb. No options. The spid lists the exterior color and red vinyl interior. Six cylinder three on the tree. I worked this deal for alomst a month with work and the wife's health issues. Anyways, got it on the trailer. That is when the fun stated. Blew a trailer tire crossing the Mississippi River bridge,, not a biggie, i have been around. Got it changed and blew the spare I put on about 40 miles down the road. Do we all carry two trailer spares? After yesterday, i am going to. My wife, as usual, saved the day. Drove over 120 miles round trip with spare tires. It is home, we are wore out but now have something to talk about during the Christmas blah blah stuff. Here it is,, my royal pain...

Nice truck. Those trips home can be an adventure. Too bad the trailer isn't a 6-lug.

Aint that the truth Tim. i had the trailer built back in 1990 and was doing Nova's back then, hence the 4 3/4 bolt pattern. made sense then,, now not so much. Oh well, minor hiccup and on to the next one.

Well it could always be worse. My nephew headed way out west for a repo and half way there he had some tire problems on his roll back wrecker. Then lug nut/stud problems. It was a very long, expensive trip.

When I take my trailer out I always check the air pressure. Are your tires on the trailer rated for trailer use. Automobile tires are not suited for trailer applications. Is there anything protruding into the inside wall from the trailer ie. bracket , straps ?
Vic

Hey Vic. Thanks for the pointers. yes, we run actual trailer tires. It was just one of those things that happen. I have been pulling this trailer all over the south east part of America since 1990 and it was just time for the law of averages to catch up with me.
