Who makes the nicest/best wiper arm?
I see that Classic Industries offers the arm & insert in polished stainless for $76.99 - http://www.classicindustries.com/pro...rts/*r866.html
And Classic Parts (who is my 'go to' parts house) has them for $51.80 if you buy the inserts too. http://www.classicparts.com/Arms-Blades/products/293/ Also searched on this forum and saw one member had gotten some from Brothers Trucks (who I usually avoid) and they started rusting in 60 days, and then replaced them with some from GMC Paul's (who I've had good experiences with) and was happy with the quality. Anyone used the Classic Industries/OER parts? They also fit Camaros, so maybe that explains the inflated price? Just trying to see if they are $25 better than the ones from Class Parts. I don't mind paying extra if they are of better quality, as I'm looking more for show quality than I am stock replacement. |
Re: Who makes the nicest/best wiper arm?
I just ordered and installed the OERs. I think they're great - but they are a polished look, and I remember the originals being more brushed. That could be because I've never seen them new, and only 20 years old!
Either way, very happy with the OERs and their appearance. |

I'd definitely want polished ones. I have some stock brushed ones that are in very good shape, they just aren't the look I'm going for right now. They are going on this heap - (obligatory truck pic...)

Follow up:
I ended up being loyal to Classic Parts, since I've always had good luck with them. The arms I received are of very nice quality and would be fine to just bolt on. However, me being me, I hit them with a buffing wheel and some white buffing compound and then polished them by hand with some MAAS metal polish (it's the shizzle!!). Of course, they are made offshore, but they look very nice, and hopefully they hold up. I don't know if the O.E.R. ones are made here or not. Maybe davepl can let us know. If they are, it's worth the extra $$ to me. |
